Sojourn in Scenic Goa

We had a decision to make. Worst case scenario, we have to abandon the trip and fly back to Mumbai. The doctor has to decide. With fingers crossed, we drive to Panjim.

Manipal Hospital, Panjim

The hospital was comparable to our very own Breach Candy Hospital, with a lot more space. After an X-Ray, breakfast in the canteen, and then consult with the Orthopaedic surgeon, we had confirmation. It was not a break. Simple splint for a few days, and our trip goes on.

Aside: the only difference between my splint and the Doctor's was that he used an icecream stick. (And mine was on the wrong side of the thumb).

Superb roads

This day was the relaxing day off, sandwiched between the treks of Wildernest and long drives in Uttara Kanada. A quick bite at Caravela Cafe & Bistro, and we were off to Postcard Hideaway at Netravali. We made most of the superb roads, and light traffic to reach our next destination in 2 hours. (Goan village roads are the benchmark for rest of India, we did not see a single pot hole).

Bordering the Netravali Natural Reserve, this hotel was just stunning. Greenery everywhere, beautifully developed, excellent guest care. Nestled in nature, we treated ourselves to luxurious spas, and a walk with the naturalist in the nature reserve.

The kids enjoyed the tandoori chicken and local river fish, we enjoyed the mirchi ka paratha. Chef Saurabh's team outdid themselves the next morning as well.
